Seeking an experience Commercial Litigation paralegal
Direct hire, On-site role
Key Responsibilities:
• Electronically file in state and federal courts
• Prepare initial drafts of pleadings, motions, notices, correspondence, etc.
• Coordinate, set, and prepare for hearings, mediations, depositions, and/or meetings
• Participate in the discovery process including drafting responses and requests for attorney’s review, compiling and reviewing document production
• Preparing and issuing subpoenas to witnesses
• Communicate verbally and in writing with clients, opposing counsel, paralegals, judicial assistants, witnesses, etc.
• Proofread all documents and check for appropriate formatting, spelling and grammatical errors
• Monitor all deadlines and maintain attorney’s calendar
• Organize and maintain client files, follow up on pending matters
• Input billing for daily activity
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department environment
• Minimum two-year degree in paralegal studies, Florida Registered Paralegal or NALA (National Association of Legal Assistants) certification; alternatively, at least 7 years of demonstrative commensurate experience working as a litigation paralegal
• Experience in the area of commercial litigation is highly preferred, but any litigation experience will be considered.
• Proficiency with Word and 50 WPM typing required
• Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and a team player who takes ownership
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
