The ideal candidate combines strong creative design skills with technical expertise, including furniture specifications, space planning, budgeting, code compliance, and multi-manufacturer product knowledge. Develop detailed layouts that maximize functionality, circulation, and aesthetics. Ensure designs meet applicable ADA, accessibility, egress, and other code requirements. Review drawings and specifications for accuracy and completeness. Coordinate ancillary packages with architectural, interior design, facilities, and project teams. Identify potential design, budget, and installation issues before orders are placed. Key Responsibilities: Design & Strategic Vision Lead the design direction for ancillary spaces within complex commercial interior projects. Develop layouts, look books, mood boards, and product presentations that align with the client's brand, culture, and workplace strategy. Create compelling product stories and design concepts for collaborative and social spaces. Select and integrate furniture, lighting, materials, and accessories to create cohesive and functional environments. Design spaces including:
o Cafés and work cafés
o Lounges and social areas
o Huddle and breakout rooms
o Reception and waiting areas
o Open collaboration zones
o Informal meeting spaces
o Flexible and multipurpose environments
Furniture & Product Specification. Specify ancillary furniture such as soft seating, sofas, lounge chairs, benches, ottomans, coffee tables, bistro tables, occasional tables, and decorative lighting. Work across multiple manufacturers and product lines to develop complete ancillary packages.
