Collections Specialist / Loss Mitigation SPOC (100% Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM EST

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Collections Specialist / Single Point of Contact (SPOC) to support loss mitigation and collections operations for mortgage servicing accounts. In this highly specialized role, you will serve as the primary liaison for borrowers navigating delinquency resolution, home retention solutions, and liquidation options. This position requires strong collections expertise, mortgage servicing knowledge, and the ability to handle sensitive financial situations with professionalism and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers regarding loss mitigation, delinquency, and collections inquiries
Perform high-volume inbound and outbound calls to resolve delinquent mortgage accounts
Analyze borrower financial information to determine eligibility for retention solutions such as forbearance or loan modifications
Review liquidation options including short sales and deeds in lieu when applicable
Negotiate payment arrangements and repayment solutions while maintaining compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines
Maintain detailed, accurate account documentation and customer communication records
Resolve escalated customer disputes, discrepancies, and complex account issues
Ensure all activities align with company policies, FHA, VA, FNMA, FHLMC, Fair Debt Collection Practices, and bankruptcy regulations
Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
Some college preferred
Minimum 3 years of experience in collections, loss mitigation, mortgage servicing, or related financial services
Strong understanding of investor guidelines (FHA, VA, FNMA, FHLMC)
Knowledge of Fair Debt Collection Laws, bankruptcy procedures, and regulatory compliance
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities
Advanced organizational and time-management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computer systems
