Collections Specialist

Key Responsibilities
• Make outbound and inbound collection calls to past due accounts and attempt to collect payments or negotiate payment arrangements
• Explain account status and available payment options while striving to retain customers when possible
• Accurately document call outcomes, payment commitments, and account activity and produce basic status notes or reports
• Escalate difficult or disputed accounts to supervisors and assist with pre claim research following established collections procedures
Qualifications
• Previous collections experience is required and candidates must be comfortable making frequent phone calls
• Upbeat, cheerful attitude and a team player mindset with the confidence to make difficult calls professionally and calmly
• Strong verbal communication skills with good attention to detail for documentation
