The Collection/Foreclosure Paralegal supports attorneys in managing legal matters related to collections and foreclosure actions. This role ensures compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Florida statutes including the Florida Condominium Act, Florida Cooperative Act, and Florida Homeowners' Association Act. The paralegal is responsible for preparing legal documents, communicating with delinquent property owners, and assisting with foreclosure, bank, and bankruptcy-related matters.

Key Responsibilities
Association Collection & Foreclosure Actions
Maintain knowledge of and comply with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and related state regulations.
Communicate professionally with delinquent property owners via phone, email, and written correspondence.
Process owner payments and prepare:
Balance due letters
Payoff letters
Estoppel certificates
Review client-provided documents including pre-collection notices, account ledgers, and supporting documentation.
Draft and prepare legal documents including:
Notice of Intent to Lien
Notice of Intent to Foreclose
Claim of Lien
Prepare complaint packages and foreclosure pleadings.
Draft settlement stipulations and Orders Ratifying Stipulations when applicable.
Prepare Motions for Summary Judgment, including:
Affidavit of Indebtedness
Affidavit of Costs
Attorney’s Fees Affidavit (review and finalize information prepared by the Team Assistant).
Draft and file Notices of Hearing.
Coordinate and provide direction to Team Assistants.
Prepare Final Judgments and Notices of Sale.
Draft cover letters to the judge and prepare hearing folders for attorneys.
Bank Foreclosure Actions
Conduct mortgage and satisfaction searches.
Prepare legal responses including Answers and Affirmative Defenses.
Draft motions and filings such as:
Motions for Case Management Conference
Notices of Trial
Motions to Reschedule Sale
Prepare and file Notices of Hearing.
Bankruptcy Matters
Prepare Notice of Appearance and Request for Service.
Prepare Exhibits to Proofs of Claim.
Prepare Notice of Change in Post-Petition Amounts.

Required Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet-based research.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent customer service and client communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Highly organized with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented, analytical, dependable, and deadline-driven.

Education and Experience
High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in collections, foreclosure, or legal support.
