Bilingual English/Spanish Healthcare MA or CNA Required
We are hiring a Clinical Intake Coordinator in Bakersfield, CA to support patient access, ensure timely service authorization, and coordinate care with providers. Candidates must be bilingual English/Spanish, have clinical experience, and hold an MA or CNA credential. This full-time role offers up to $26.00 per hour and the opportunity to grow within a respected healthcare organization.
As a key part of the utilization management and clinical operations team, you will review medical service requests, apply MCG and Medi-Cal guidelines, and ensure accurate documentation. If you are detail-oriented, patient-focused, and experienced in care coordination, we want to meet you.
Responsibilities
Review outpatient and elective inpatient service requests for medical necessity
Apply MCG guidelines, Medi-Cal coverage criteria, and organizational protocols
Communicate with providers, clinics, and internal departments to coordinate patient care
Refer appropriate cases to the Medical Director for review
Maintain current knowledge of covered benefits and assist with internal referrals
Document all case activity accurately in the required systems while ensuring compliance
Support the clinical team with authorization workflows and program requirements
Requirements
High School Diploma
Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care, community health, or chronic disease management
Bilingual English/Spanish (required)
Medical Assistant (MA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
Basic knowledge of medical terminology; ICD-10 preferred
Ability to type 30 WPM
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and database systems
Must pass drug test and background check
Experience with MCG guidelines and Medi-Cal coverage
Tier I or Tier II Certification
Familiarity with clinical review processes and healthcare authorization workflows
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in utilization management, care coordination, or member services
Prior work in managed care or Medicaid/Medi-Cal environments
