A downtown Orlando law firm is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney for a direct hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an independent, detail-oriented, and motivated litigation attorney who is ready to manage liability matters, prepare cases for trial, and work directly with clients in a professional legal services environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Investigate, evaluate, and defend civil liability matters from initial case assessment through resolution.
- Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and participate in discovery strategy.
- Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, reports, and other litigation-related documents.
- Argue hearings and assist with preparing cases for mediation, arbitration, settlement, or trial.
- Communicate regularly with clients, provide case updates, and prepare clear reporting materials.
- Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff while managing deadlines and case priorities.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $120,000 to $150,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage civil litigation matters involving liability defense from investigation through trial preparation.
- Conduct and defend depositions, argue hearings, and support litigation strategy.
- Draft high-quality motions, pleadings, reports, and client communications.
- Interact professionally with clients and provide timely case analysis and updates.

- 4 to 10+ years of litigation experience preferred based on case complexity and role expectations.
- Experience investigating and defending liability matters.
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to take ownership of cases and move matters forward independently.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and deadline management.
- Strong client communication skills and experience reporting to clients.
- Self-starter with an exceptional work ethic and sound professional judgment.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, in-office legal environment.
- Ability to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Product liability litigation experience.
- Trial experience.
- Experience working as an associate or of counsel attorney in a civil litigation defense environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage substantial case responsibility with limited supervision.
