Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer II for a direct hire opportunity in the Conyers, GA area focused on transportation, roadway, and public works infrastructure projects. This Civil Engineer role is ideal for a hands-on engineering professional who enjoys managing projects from planning and design through construction oversight and successful completion.

This opportunity offers meaningful work supporting public infrastructure improvements, including roadway upgrades, resurfacing, traffic rerouting, drainage, and transportation-related enhancements. Key Responsibilities

- Design and manage roadway, transportation, drainage, and public infrastructure projects from planning through completion.
- Support road widening, resurfacing, traffic rerouting, roadway improvements, highway beautification, and related transportation projects.
- Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, drawings, cost estimates, permit applications, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate right-of-way, utility, permitting, contractor, consultant, and construction-related project activities.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, contractors, field conditions, and overall project progress.
- Perform engineering calculations, technical evaluations, plan reviews, and construction issue resolution.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $77,544.12 to $95,438.91 per year.

Employment Type: Direct Hire.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Design and manage roadway, transportation, drainage, and public infrastructure projects.
- Review engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents.
- Coordinate project schedules, budgets, contractors, consultants, utilities, permitting, and right-of-way activities.
- Support roadway construction oversight and resolve design or field-related engineering issues.

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- 6 to 10 years of professional experience in civil, roadway, transportation, or public infrastructure engineering.
- Strong understanding of roadway design, drainage, construction, and civil engineering project management.
- Experience with engineering plan review, technical documentation, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, CAD tools, GIS, and other engineering software used in planning and design.
- Ability to manage multiple engineering projects, deadlines, stakeholders, and competing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience coordinating with contractors, consultants, utilities, engineers, designers, and public project stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of applicable codes, specifications, regulations, and engineering standards.

Preferred Qualifications

- Professional Engineer license preferred but not required.
- Experience with municipal, county, state, DOT, or other public-sector transportation projects.
- Experience managing roadway construction or infrastructure improvement projects.
- Background in roadway engineering, transportation engineering, highway or street improvements, road widening, resurfacing, drainage, stormwater, or public infrastructure projects.
- Candidates with transportation and public works experience are strongly preferred over candidates focused primarily on water/wastewater, bridge engineering, or commercial land development.
