We are seeking a Certified Workers’ Compensation Claims Examiner / Adjuster to join a fast-paced team managing workers’ compensation claims from intake through resolution. This is a long-term contract (6+ months) based in Martinez, CA. This role involves evaluating indemnity claims, interpreting California workers’ compensation laws, and working within claims systems to ensure timely and accurate claim handling.

Responsibilities

- Manage full lifecycle of workers’ compensation indemnity claims
Investigate claims, determine compensability, and set reserves
- Review medical and legal documentation to support decisions
- Communicate with claimants, physicians, attorneys, and stakeholders
- Process disability payments and medical bills
- Document all claim activity in electronic systems
- Negotiate settlements and support litigation when needed

Qualifications

- Active California Certified Claims Adjuster certification or Self-Insurance Certificate (required)
- 2+ years WC claims experience (mid-level) or 3+ years (senior level)
- Hands-on experience handling workers’ compensation indemnity claims
- Strong knowledge of California workers’ compensation laws and regulations
- Experience using claims management software
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Must be able to work onsite in Martinez, CA
