On behalf of our client, a leading firm in Financial and Accounting Services, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Public Accountant to join their team as a Consulting Manager / Staff Accountant. This pivotal role involves a blend of financial leadership, hands-on accounting, and client-facing consulting, focusing on providing comprehensive financial statement analysis, process improvements, and strategic financial insights. The ideal candidate will be a proactive CPA with a strong background in public accounting and a proven ability to manage complex accounting tasks and client relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Management & Training: Manage and train internal staff as well as accounting personnel at client offices, fostering strong accounting practices.
- Financial Statement Analysis: Provide in-depth financial statement analysis, including but not limited to developing management reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- GAAP Compliance & Review: Review GAAP financial statements, encompassing:
- Preparation of bank reconciliations.
- Analysis of accounts receivable and allowance for doubtful accounts.
- Analysis and capitalization/amortization of prepaid expenses.
- Inventory costing and valuation analysis.
- Analysis and accrual of expenses.
- Reconciliation of debt and accrued interest.
- Reconciliation of other balance sheet accounts based on the client’s business.
- Analysis of profit and loss statements, including consideration of revenue and
expense recognition principles.
- Systems & Process Improvement: Evaluate, recognize, and provide recommendations for improvements to systems and processes within an accounting function to ensure proper internal controls.
- Financial Projections & Analysis: Review financial projections and forecasts, including ongoing analysis of budget to actual results.
- Strategic Financial Support: Assist with evaluation and analysis of debt financing and other capital-raising alternatives, and provide assistance with buy and sell-side due diligence.
- Client Management: Effectively manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Active CPA license is required.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in public accounting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, intermediate to advanced Excel).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Outstanding organization and project management skills.
- Highly motivated and takes initiative for professional growth and development.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel to client locations, which may include occasional overnight stays.
- Ability to work overtime, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and familiarity with QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, Netsuite, Sage Intacct, and other accounting ERP systems are a plus.
- Experience in Accounting/Finance within the Financial and Accounting Services industry.
