Diesel Engine Mechanic
Location: Bakersfield, CA
Job Type: Direct Hire, Full-Time
Hourly Pay: $32 – $45 + Monthly Bonus Program

Overview:
Our client is Seeking a seasoned Diesel Engine Mechanic with a strong, proven background in diesel engines and mandatory dealership experience. This role focuses on advanced diagnostics and repairs for heavy-medium duty diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other critical systems. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, ensuring fleet vehicles meet the highest safety and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex diesel engine issues using advanced diagnostic tools.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy trucks and fleet vehicles.
- Work with engine, drive-train, emissions systems, and other mechanical components.
- Collaborate with foremen and parts departments to coordinate repairs and component orders.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical guidance to junior technicians and ensure high-quality repair documentation.
- Effectively communicate mechanical issues with colleagues, customers, and managers.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- PACCAR MX Engine Certification (Required).
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications preferred.
- Mandatory dealership experience with Peterbilt and Kenworth.
- Journeyman diesel technician certification or completion of a diesel technology program or apprenticeship.
- Minimum [Insert Years] of experience working with heavy-duty diesel engines.
- Strong computer skills for diagnostics and reporting.
- Valid Class C California driver's license required (Class A preferred).
- Ongoing technical training to stay current with diesel advancements, emissions regulations, and safety standards.

Work Environment:
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Occasionally required to sit.
- Must regularly lift/push/pull up to 60 pounds.
