Career Development Specialist – Higher Education Support
Location: Greenwood, SC
Schedule: 37.5 hours/week

Summer Hours: Mon–Wed: 7:30am–5:30pm, Thurs: 7:30am–5:00pm

Fall Hours: Includes every other Tuesday evening until 7:00pm
Pay: $21–$24/hour
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

We are a staffing agency partnering with a respected institution that’s expanding its workforce development team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact by supporting students as they prepare to enter the workforce. About the Role
As a Career Development Specialist, you’ll work closely with students to provide personalized career support, from crafting resumes and cover letters to identifying internships and job placements. You’ll build strong relationships with employers, faculty, and alumni to help create meaningful professional pathways for students.

This is a people-first, fast-paced role—ideal for someone with a background in career advising, recruitment, HR, or higher education who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one career coaching to students
Facilitate workshops, panels, and presentations on job readiness topics
Collaborate with employers to coordinate internships and job opportunities
Use tools like Handshake to manage student and employer engagement
Support resume writing, interview prep, and career fair preparation
Represent the institution at career-related events, including occasional evening open houses

Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in counseling, education, business, human resources, or related field
2–3 years of experience in career services, HR, recruiting, or academic advising
Strong interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Preferred:
Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., NCDA, GCDF)
Experience working in a higher education setting
