Job Summary

AppleOne is recruiting a Capital Project Supervisor for a direct hire opportunity with a growing dairy and food processing operation in Tulare, CA. This role will lead capital equipment, facility improvement, and engineering projects that directly support production capacity, operational efficiency, food safety, and long-term plant growth.

The Capital Project Manager will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, contractors, and equipment vendors to move projects from concept through installation, commissioning, and successful handoff. Key Responsibilities

- Lead capital equipment and facility improvement projects from planning and budgeting through installation, startup, commissioning, and completion.
- Manage project scope, schedules, cost estimates, resources, vendor deliverables, and leadership status updates.
- Coordinate equipment procurement, RFPs, supplier evaluations, contractor activities, FAT, SAT, documentation, and warranty requirements.
- Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and contractors to minimize production disruption and ensure operational readiness.
- Ensure projects comply with GMPs, OSHA requirements, food safety standards, environmental regulations, sanitation needs, and company policies.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, throughput, reliability, yield, efficiency, cost savings, and overall manufacturing performance.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $85,000 to $95,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage capital equipment and facility improvement projects in a manufacturing or food processing environment.
- Oversee equipment procurement, installation, startup, commissioning, validation, and project handoff.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, vendors, contractors, risk mitigation, and cross-functional communication.
- Support plant growth initiatives, operational improvements, and manufacturing infrastructure upgrades.

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, Manufacturing, Project Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing capital projects in manufacturing, food processing, dairy, beverage, agricultural, or industrial operations.
- Experience working directly with equipment manufacturers, vendors, contractors, and internal plant teams.
- Knowledge of manufacturing systems, utilities, plant infrastructure, production processes, and equipment installation requirements.
- Strong project management, organization, communication, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining focus on safety, quality, budget, schedule, and production needs.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in dairy processing, cheese manufacturing, whey processing, milk processing, or food production facilities.
- PMP certification.
- Background in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with automation systems, PLC controls, process equipment, packaging equipment, refrigeration systems, or CIP systems.
- Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SQF, FSSC 22000, sanitation standards, and food safety requirements.
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar capital project budgets.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, process optimization, and operational excellence initiatives.
