We have a fantastic opportunity with a global defense company in the Poway area! We are hiring 25+ Cable Assemblers for a 6-month (possible temp to hire) assignment. We have both first and second shifts available.
Candidates must be familiar with the following: hot tweezer, soldering, caliper, tape measure. In addition, ability to read blueprints, terminology, specifications, and tools.
1st shift Pay: $25.96/hour
2nd shift Pay: $27.26/hour
Shifts Available:
1st Shift: 5:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
2nd Shift: 3:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.
Position Overview
Under general supervision, the Cable Assembler is responsible for performing a variety of electronic and mechanical assemblies and sub assemblies, including wiring, soldering, cable harnessing, and component installation. This role requires the ability to follow detailed instructions, work to precise specifications, and ensure quality standards are met throughout the assembly process.
Key Responsibilities
• Assemble components, assemblies, and sub assemblies according to specifications.
• Perform setups and adjustments, maintaining tolerances per requirements.
• Complete electronic assemblies such as cables, harnesses, chassis, and printed circuit boards, as well as mechanical assemblies (e.g., panels, LRUs, batteries, servo motors).
• Disassemble, modify, rework, and reassemble assemblies as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards, procedures, and regulations.
• Assist with training lower-level assemblers as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of relevant assembly experience.
• Familiarity with tools such as hot tweezers, soldering equipment, calipers, and tape measures.
• Soldering certificate preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wire lists, blueprints, and specifications.
• Knowledge of soldering and compression connection tools.
• Basic computer skills relevant to the role.
• Good visual perception and ability to distinguish colors.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to work independently.
• Willingness to work extended hours if required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
