Job Summary
A well-established organization in San Diego, CA is seeking an experienced CPA Accounting Manager to support corporate accounting, financial reporting, monthly close, audit preparation, and compliance activities. This role is a strong fit for a management-level accounting professional with deep general ledger experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to make an immediate impact.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records, accounting operations, and financial reporting.
- Review and approve monthly accruals, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Monitor monthly budget-to-actual results, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Post daily accounting batches in SAGE and support annual financial report preparation.
- Assist with external audit preparation by developing schedules, gathering documentation, and responding to audit inquiries.
- Maintain compliance with accounting policies, procedures, government accounting standards, and applicable regulations.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation: $50 to $60 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Oversee monthly close, financial reporting, journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support audit preparation, compliance requirements, and financial documentation.
- Analyze budget-to-actual results and partner with leadership on variance explanations and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate accounting activity in SAGE and support annual reporting processes.
- Active CPA designation required.
- 6 to 10 years of accounting experience, preferably with management-level responsibility.
- Strong general ledger accounting, monthly close, reconciliation, and financial reporting experience.
- Knowledge of government accounting standards, compliance requirements, and audit support processes.
- Experience using SAGE for accounting transactions, batch posting, or financial reporting.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy, professionalism, accountability, and ability to work collaboratively with accounting teams and leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in real estate, property management, or a related industry.
- Prior experience working in a stable corporate accounting environment.
- Background supporting external audits and annual financial reporting.
- Ability to quickly step into accounting operations and contribute with limited ramp-up time.
