Job Summary

A well-established public accounting firm in Tucson, AZ is seeking an experienced Tax Specialist (CPA or EA) to join its Tax Department on a direct hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with strong technical knowledge, client service skills, and a desire to grow within a stable and collaborative public accounting environment.

The CPA will prepare business, individual, trust, estate, and gift tax returns while serving as a trusted tax resource for clients and internal team members. Key Responsibilities

- Prepare individual and business income tax returns, including multi-state filings.
- Provide income tax services for businesses, individuals, trusts, estates, and gift tax returns.
- Conduct quarterly tax planning for business and individual clients.
- Review financial statements and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to tax preparation.
- Research and resolve tax-related issues, inquiries, and compliance matters.
- Communicate with federal, state, and local taxing authorities as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Prepare business, individual, trust, estate, and gift tax returns.
- Manage multi-state tax filings and quarterly tax planning.
- Review client financial records and supporting documentation for tax readiness.
- Serve as a tax resource for clients and internal team members.

- Current CPA or EA license, or active candidacy toward licensure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of tax preparation experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, PDF software, QuickBooks, and other accounting applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and issue-resolution skills.
- Comfortable working in a paperless environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Strong work ethic, exceptional attention to detail, and ability to build positive client and colleague relationships.

- Experience with tax preparation software.
- Public accounting firm experience.
- Experience preparing trust, estate, gift, and multi-state tax returns.
