Job Summary

A direct hire opportunity is available for an experienced CNC Programmer in Tempe, AZ. This role is ideal for a hands-on CNC professional with strong Haas machine setup, programming, and troubleshooting experience who enjoys working directly with customers, technical teams, and manufacturing equipment.

The CNC Programmer will support machine programming, customer training, runoffs, process optimization, and technical issue resolution for CNC machining equipment. This is a highly visible applications engineering role that combines hands-on machining expertise with customer-facing support, making it a strong fit for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving machining performance, and helping customers succeed.

This opportunity offers a collaborative environment working closely with Sales and Service teams, supportive technical leadership, and a mix of office, shop floor, and customer-site work. Key Responsibilities

- Program, set up, and optimize Haas CNC machines, including tooling, fixturing, machine runoffs, and process validation.
- Interpret blueprints and develop efficient machining processes, CNC programs, and setup procedures.
- Provide remote and on-site technical support to troubleshoot CNC programming, setup, and machine operation issues.
- Train customers on machine operation, programming, setup methods, troubleshooting, and best practices.
- Support pre-sales demonstrations, customer runoffs, trade shows, and technical training events.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, customer support records, and follow-up on technical issues.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Program, set up, and optimize Haas CNC machines for customer applications and machine runoffs.
- Develop machining processes from blueprints, including tooling, fixturing, and CNC programming strategy.
- Provide customer training, technical support, and troubleshooting both remotely and on-site.
- Partner with Sales and Service teams to support demonstrations, training events, and customer success.

- 6-10 years of relevant CNC programming, machining, applications engineering, or technical support experience preferred.
- 3-5 years of hands-on Haas CNC machine setup and programming experience required.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming, G-code, tooling, fixturing, blueprint reading, GD&T, and machining processes.
- Experience developing machining processes and optimizing cycle times.
- Familiarity with statistical process control, CPK, and quality standards.
- Proficiency with computer software, documentation, and project records.
- Strong communication, customer service, organization, and project management skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally and out of state for customer support and training.
- Comfortable working around CNC machinery, standing for extended periods, and operating in office, manufacturing, and customer-site environments.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in a customer-facing applications engineer, field service, or technical training role.
- Experience supporting pre-sales demonstrations, trade shows, customer runoffs, or technical product presentations.
- Advanced knowledge of Haas CNC controls, machining best practices, and process improvement methods.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with sales, service, engineering, and customer teams.
