Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for a direct hire opportunity in Valencia, CA, supporting precision manufacturing for the aerospace and defense industry. This role is ideal for a machinist with strong setup, operation, blueprint reading, and inspection experience who takes pride in producing high-tolerance components used in aircraft, spacecraft, and defense systems.

The CNC Machinist will work in a quality-focused manufacturing environment where accuracy, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement are essential. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on machining, collaborating with engineering and quality teams, and contributing to complex aerospace production work.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining centers to produce precision aerospace components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions to meet customer and quality requirements.
- Load, edit, and adjust CNC programs, tooling, fixtures, and machine offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, CMM equipment, and other precision measuring tools.
- Monitor machining operations, troubleshoot issues, document production data, and report nonconforming conditions.
- Follow safety procedures, quality standards, lean manufacturing practices, and routine machine maintenance requirements.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining centers.
- Machine precision aerospace components to tight tolerances and required surface finishes.
- Perform in-process inspections and make tool offsets or adjustments as needed.
- Work from blueprints, GD&T, engineering drawings, and detailed work instructions.

- 3 to 5 years of CNC machining experience, preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational machining certification preferred.
- Proficiency with CNC mills, lathes, or 5-axis machining centers.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, precision measurement, and inspection methods.
- Experience working with aerospace materials such as aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and Inconel.
- Ability to use micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, coolants, and metal chips while using required PPE.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Siemens, or Okuma CNC controls.
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality standards.
- Familiarity with SPC and Lean Manufacturing practices.
- Experience with CMM inspection equipment.
- Exposure to CAD/CAM software.
- Previous aerospace or defense manufacturing experience.
