Job Summary:
The CNC Machinist proficiently operates HAAS Milling Machines and HAAS Lathes, with a strong understanding of machine setup, settings, and operation. This individual is responsible for performing complete part setups prior to machining and executing precision machining tasks in a hands-on production environment. The role plays a critical part in manufacturing and repairing components that meet stringent quality standards, including those required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Core Responsibilities:
· Review drawings, sketches, blueprints, and schematics prior to production.
· Perform full machine setups for each job, including tooling selection, offsets, and fixture alignment.
· Operate HAAS Milling Machines and HAAS Lathes using proper machining techniques.
· Adjust machine controls to regulate feeds, speeds, and cutting conditions as needed.
· Accurately scan production jobs in and out of the system to maintain production tracking.
· Execute precision machining operations to produce parts within tight tolerances.
· Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and prevent damage to parts or equipment.
· Inspect finished components using precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
· Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication, to ensure optimal performance.
· Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
· Meet production schedules and maintain accurate production records.
· Perform other duties as assigned, including overtime as needed.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Perform complete CNC part setups for production machining jobs.
- Operate HAAS Mills and HAAS Lathes in a hands-on machine shop environment.
- Machine aerospace components to tight tolerances while following drawings and work instructions.
- Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to confirm quality and specification compliance.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 6 years of CNC Machinist experience in a production or machine shop environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machine operation, setup, adjustment, and machining best practices.
- Ability to independently perform full part setups, including tooling, offsets, and fixture alignment.
- Experience with HAAS Milling Machines and/or HAAS Lathes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, sketches, and schematics.
- Familiarity with grinders, saws, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other shop measuring tools.
- Basic understanding of CNC controls with the ability to read and follow existing programs.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work accurately within tight tolerances.
- Experience working with aerospace materials and understanding proper feeds and speeds.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with team members.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English in compliance with FAA regulations, including 14 CFR Part 145.
- Willingness to comply with pre-employment and random DOT drug and alcohol testing in accordance with 14 CFR Part 120.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with both HAAS Mills and HAAS Lathes.
- Prior aerospace and defense machining experience.
- Experience manufacturing or repairing components under FAA-regulated quality requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot setup challenges and optimize machining conditions for quality and efficiency.
