Position: CNC Machinist
Location: Buffalo, NY 14203
Compensation: 25-30 per hour depending on experience

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in Buffalo, NY. In this role, you will set up and perform machining operations on a wide variety of parts, including castings, weldments, and stock bars. You will work with both CNC and manual equipment while ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficiency throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform machine setups according to program directives using shims, blocks, supports, and fixtures to ensure proper alignment.
• Interpret drawings, sketches, process sheets, and specifications to determine operation sequences.
• Set up and operate CNC and manual machines simultaneously.
• Operate CNC machine controls, computers, and software, including editing code when required.
• Inspect work to ensure compliance with drawings, program requirements, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with Programmers, Group Leaders, Methods Engineers, and Management to standardize processes.
• Deburr parts during machining using hand tools and power tools.
• Maintain standard production times to meet efficiency expectations.
• Assist with secondary operations such as drilling, countersinking, tapping, and removing broken taps or drills.
• Work effectively within a team environment and support colleagues as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and program changes.
• Replace broken or worn tools as necessary.

Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One to two years of experience in mill machining or equivalent education/training certificate
• Experience with rigging and overhead cranes
• Knowledge of GD&T
• Ability to work with both metric and imperial measurements
• Proficiency with inspection instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators
