CNC Machinist

In this role, you will set up and perform a variety of machining operations on parts made from castings, weldments, and stock bars, ensuring high-quality results and adherence to specifications.

Responsibilities:

Perform own setups using shims, blocks, supports, and fixtures to ensure proper alignment of parts.
Interpret drawings, sketches, process sheets, and specifications to determine operation sequences.
Set up and operate CNC and manual machines simultaneously.
Operate CNC machine controls, computers, and software, with the ability to edit code when necessary.
Inspect and verify work for compliance with drawings, program directives, and quality standards.
Collaborate with Programmers, Group Leaders, Methods Engineers, and Management to standardize work processes.
Deburr parts using hand tools and hand-operated power tools.
Maintain standard production times to meet efficiency goals.
Assist with secondary machining functions such as drilling, countersinking, tapping, and removing broken taps or drills.
Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and any program changes.
Replace broken or dulled tools as needed.
Work collaboratively in a team environment and assist others when needed.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
1–2 years of experience in mill machining or equivalent education/training certificate.
Experience with rigging and overhead crane operation.
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) required.
Ability to work with both metric and imperial measurements.
Proficiency with inspection instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and effective communication skills.
Team-oriented with willingness to assist others.
