A scientific equipment manufacturing company in State College, PA is seeking a CAD Drafter for a temp-to-hire opportunity. The CAD Drafter will support documentation updates, redline conversions, mechanical and electro-mechanical drawings, and controlled change activity tied to key business and branding initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Create and update mechanical and electro-mechanical drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Translate red-lined drawings into finalized controlled documents in accordance with documentation control procedures.
- Update technical documentation and initiate engineering change notices, including ECNs.
- Work cross-functionally with Production Engineering and other internal teams to support controlled change activity.
- Review drawings, specification sheets, bills of material, and related documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Manage multiple drafting and documentation priorities while meeting department timelines and business needs.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $35 to $40 per hour.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Location: State College, PA.
- 3 to 5 years of documentation change management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks modeling and drafting.
- Knowledge of models, assemblies, part configurations, drawings, bills of material, and configuration management.
- Strong computer skills and ability to work within documentation control systems and related processes.
- Ability to understand ECNs, create and edit documents, and interpret specification sheets.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced department.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with controlled data in a manufacturing or engineering documentation environment.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Visual Manufacturing.
- Experience with PLM systems such as Omnify or Agile.
- Experience with EPDM or similar engineering document management systems.
