Job Summary
A well-established organization in the government and defense sector is seeking a Temporary Buyer in Goleta, CA to provide procurement support for approximately 6 weeks, with the possibility of extension. The Temporary Buyer will play an important role in sourcing goods and services, preparing purchasing documentation, coordinating with suppliers, and supporting internal program and project teams. Key Responsibilities
- Review, prepare, and execute procurement documentation in accordance with established purchasing procedures.
- Analyze procurement requirements, specifications, supplier quotes, and purchase order details to support timely and accurate purchasing activity.
- Create, place, and track purchase orders while ensuring products and services are delivered on time, to specification, and at competitive pricing.
- Evaluate, qualify, onboard, and maintain relationships with suppliers while monitoring performance and addressing issues as needed.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supporting documentation, certifications, representations, and required data submittals.
- Collaborate with program and project teams to support compliance with procurement processes, procedures, and applicable requirements.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Rate: $32.00 to $35.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Duration: Temporary assignment for approximately 6 weeks, with potential for extension.
- Location: Goleta, CA.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Review procurement requirements and execute purchasing documentation.
- Obtain supplier quotes, issue purchase orders, and track order status.
- Maintain supplier relationships and accurate procurement records.
- Partner with internal teams to support compliant procurement processes.
- Minimum of 2 years of procurement, purchasing, or buyer experience.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Successful completion of background clearance is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems, and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with accounting software.
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations, FAR.
- Certified Purchasing Manager, CPM, certification or equivalent.
