Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Buyer/Planner for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Chatsworth, CA. This role is ideal for a procurement and production planning professional who can step into a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment and make an immediate impact on material availability, production scheduling, supplier coordination, and on-time delivery performance.

The Buyer/Planner will help convert customer demand into executable production plans, manage MRP requirements, purchase production materials and MRO supplies, and support engineering with sourcing needs for new designs. This is a high-visibility role for someone who enjoys hands-on manufacturing operations, cross-functional teamwork, and proactive problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

- Build and execute master production schedules based on customer demand, sales orders, capacity, and shop floor priorities.
- Create, release, sequence, and monitor work orders, job travelers, and WIP to support production flow and resolve bottlenecks.
- Manage MRP activity to align procurement timing with production schedules and ensure component availability before jobs are released.
- Purchase production commodities and MRO supplies, including supplier follow-up, expediting, delivery tracking, and issue resolution.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, shipping, receiving, accounting, and vendors to support quality, delivery, and documentation accuracy.
- Participate in daily production huddles to track schedule attainment, OTIF performance, shortages, scrap issues, and critical priorities.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $70,000 to $75,000 per year.
- Employment type: Temp-to-hire.
- Location: Chatsworth, CA.



Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage production planning activities, including master schedules, work orders, job travelers, and WIP tracking.
- Support purchasing activity for production materials, commodities, and MRO supplies.
- Use MRP requirements to align procurement timing with production schedules and material availability.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with production, engineering, shipping, receiving, accounting, and suppliers.

- 3 to 5 years of experience in buying, planning, production control, procurement, or a related manufacturing operations role.
- Must have experience creating and managing MRO purchase orders.
- Experience working with MRP systems, production schedules, work orders, and component availability.
- Strong supplier follow-up, expediting, delivery tracking, and issue resolution skills.
- Ability to support a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities and critical deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across production, engineering, purchasing, shipping, receiving, vendors, and accounting.
- Detail-oriented and proactive, with strong organizational skills and a focus on on-time delivery, inventory readiness, and schedule execution.
