Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer/Planner for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Ventura, CA. This role is ideal for a purchasing and production planning professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and wants to support inventory flow, production readiness, and on-time delivery.
The Buyer/Planner will work closely with Sales, Accounting, and production-related teams to plan distributed products, manage ERP data, maintain appropriate inventory levels, and help ensure customer delivery goals are met. This is a strong opportunity to join a collaborative operations team where communication, accountability, and cross-functional teamwork are key to success.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule distributed products using ERP software to support production and delivery requirements.
- Review daily sales activity, distribution needs, and demand changes to maintain accurate planning priorities.
- Enter, update, and maintain ERP planning data, including inventory and production-related information.
- Manage inventory levels for key production components to help prevent shortages and excess stock.
- Create and release work orders in alignment with production schedules and customer delivery expectations.
- Partner with Sales and Accounting to resolve delivery, inventory, and cost-related issues.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $28 to $33 per hour, depending on experience.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Plan and schedule distributed products using ERP software.
- Manage inventory levels and production component availability.
- Create and release work orders to support production schedules.
- Collaborate with Sales and Accounting to support delivery goals and resolve inventory or cost issues.
- 2+ years of production planning and purchasing experience in a distributed product environment.
- 2+ years of ERP software experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High school diploma required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Must be able to successfully complete pre-employment drug/alcohol testing, criminal/civil background checks, and employment and education verification.
- Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience in a manufacturing, production, metal fabrication, welding, or operations environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, purchasing workflows, demand planning, and production scheduling.
