Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay Rate: $30-$32/hour

Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to support manufacturing operations in Waynesboro, PA. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely procurement and delivery of direct materials to support production while maintaining optimal inventory levels and strong supplier performance.
The Buyer will work closely with Planning, Production, Warehouse, Logistics, and Procurement teams to prevent material shortages, minimize inventory risk, and support cost and performance improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing & Order Management
Analyze Material Requirements Planning (MRP) demand and replenish inventory accordingly.
Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) and Stock Transfer Orders (STOs) in SAP.
Obtain order confirmations and track Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) for all POs.
Monitor open purchase orders to prevent late deliveries and production disruptions.
Ensure accurate goods receipt in the ERP system.
Supplier Management
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and intercompany feeder plants.
Monitor vendor performance, including on-time delivery.
Resolve delivery, pricing, and invoicing discrepancies in a timely manner.
Escalate supplier issues through appropriate internal channels when necessary.
Support supplier development and cost savings initiatives.
Production & Cross-Functional Support
Attend daily production meetings to align material availability with production schedules.
Communicate shortages or risks to Planning and Production teams.
Review and execute system exception messages regularly.
Analyze vendor constraints (Line of Balance) when supply issues arise.
Provide monthly forecasts to suppliers to ensure alignment.
Inventory & Continuous Improvement
Support initiatives to reduce excess and obsolete inventory.
Participate in projects focused on improving inventory turns and cost efficiency.
Collaborate with Warehouse and Logistics to resolve material discrepancies.
Financial & Compliance Support
Address Accounts Payable discrepancies (invoice issues).
Support quality escalations, ISO requirements, and engineering changes related to purchased materials.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field or minimum 3 years of purchasing/planning experience.
Direct buying experience in a manufacturing environment (metal-mechanic, refrigeration, electronics, HVAC preferred).
Experience working closely with Planning and Production teams.
Knowledge of MRP systems and production planning processes.
SAP experience preferred.
Fluent in English.
