Job Summary

We are seeking a Buyer for a direct hire opportunity in Los Angeles, CA within a manufacturing and operations environment. This role is ideal for a purchasing professional with 3-5 years of experience who can support production needs, manage supplier relationships, and help ensure materials are sourced accurately, cost-effectively, and on time.

The Buyer will work closely with operations, production, planning, and vendor partners to maintain inventory flow and support plant performance. Key Responsibilities

- Purchase materials, components, supplies, and services needed to support manufacturing and operational requirements.
- Review purchase requisitions, issue purchase orders, and monitor order status to ensure timely delivery.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, quality issues, and delivery updates.
- Partner with production, inventory, and operations teams to prevent material shortages and support schedule commitments.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier documentation, pricing information, and related system updates.
- Identify opportunities to improve cost, delivery performance, supplier reliability, and purchasing processes.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $60,000 to $100,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage daily purchasing activity for manufacturing materials, supplies, and operational needs.
- Coordinate supplier communication, purchase order follow-up, and delivery scheduling.
- Support inventory availability, production timelines, and plant operations through accurate buying practices.
- Track pricing, lead times, supplier performance, and purchasing documentation.

- 3-5 years of buying, purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, production, plant operations, or a similar operational environment.
- Strong understanding of purchase orders, supplier follow-up, lead times, pricing, and inventory support.
- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, internal departments, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail, follow-through, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift based on production needs.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience using ERP, MRP, inventory management, or purchasing software.
- Familiarity with manufacturing materials, production planning, supplier scorecards, or cost reduction initiatives.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build productive supplier relationships.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, operations, or a related field.
