• Position Type: 12 Months Contract with possibility of multiple extensions
Position Overview
The Manufacturing Buyer is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted material supply to support production operations. This role manages direct material procurement, supplier performance, MRP demand planning, and inventory optimization within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Buyer works cross-functionally with Planning, Production, Warehouse, and Global Procurement teams to prevent shortages, reduce excess inventory, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze MRP demand and replenish materials in alignment with production schedules
• Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) and Stock Transfer Orders (STOs) in SAP
• Obtain and track supplier confirmations and estimated delivery dates (ETAs)
• Monitor open purchase order lines and prevent past-due deliveries
• Attend daily production meetings and communicate material risks or shortages
• Execute exception messages and manage supply chain escalations
• Coordinate with suppliers and feeder plants to align delivery timelines
• Support expediting efforts to minimize inventory stock-outs and revenue impact
• Monitor vendor performance and on-time delivery metrics
• Analyze line of balance (LOB) when supplier constraints occur
• Review monthly forecasts and communicate projections to suppliers
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and collaborate with AP and Logistics teams
• Support quality escalations, engineering changes, and ISO-related activities
• Lead inventory reduction initiatives targeting excess and obsolete materials
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree OR minimum 3 years of experience in Purchasing or Materials Planning
• Direct Buyer experience in a manufacturing environment (HVAC, metal-mechanic, refrigeration, or electronics preferred)
• Strong understanding of MRP (Materials Requirement Planning)
• Experience using SAP or similar ERP system
• Experience working closely with Production, Planning, and Warehouse teams
• Fluent English communication skills
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive mindset with strong teamwork and leadership skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines
