Position: Buyer
Location: Hybrid | San Juan, PR (2-3 days onsite in San Juan)
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Salary: $58,240annually
Overview
The Buyer is responsible for supporting purchasing and procurement operations, managing sourcing activities, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry standards. Strong analytical, negotiation, and project management skills are required to support business objectives and deliver operational efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities
• Manage buying assignments and vendor performance.
• Source commodities and services according to business needs.
• Identify and implement cost-saving strategies through negotiation, process improvement, and item substitution.
• Analyze market trends related to assigned commodities.
• Develop and manage relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Manage vendor performance and compliance.
• Prepare reports and analyses on managed commodities.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, finance, or analysis.
• Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
• Proven experience managing professional services contract negotiations.
• Strong skills in competitive bidding.
• Solid project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Contract management experience.
• Experience with Ariba (preferred).
• Experience with ICertis and/or ServiceNow.
• Additional education or certifications in procurement or finance.
