Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Butcher/Meat Cutter for a direct hire opportunity in the Miami, FL area, with locations in Doral, Hialeah, Miami, Aventura, and Coral Gables. This role is ideal for a skilled meat cutter who enjoys both hands-on trade work and customer interaction in a restaurant and market service environment.
The Butcher/Meat Cutter will prepare, cut, trim, weigh, wrap, and display meat products while assisting customers with product selection and special orders. Key Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, bone, tie, grind, wrap, weigh, label, and price meat, poultry, fish, and related products.
- Assist customers by explaining cuts, recommending products, preparing special orders, and providing friendly service.
- Prepare attractive meat displays and maintain product presentation to support sales and customer interest.
- Receive, inspect, store, and track meat inventory to help maintain quality, freshness, and accurate records.
- Estimate supply needs, support ordering or requisitioning of meat products, and maintain proper inventory levels.
- Process customer transactions, total sales, and collect payment as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $17.00 to $25.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Prepare, cut, trim, bone, tie, grind, cure, smoke, tenderize, and preserve meat products according to customer and business needs.
- Serve customers at the meat counter, explain different cuts, recommend products, and promote items based on customer preferences.
- Maintain clean, attractive, and properly stocked display cases with accurately labeled and priced products.
- Receive, inspect, store, record, and manage meat inventory to support quality and availability.
- 3 to 5 years of butcher, meat cutter, or related retail meat department experience.
- Bilingual Spanish skills are required.
- Strong knowledge of beef, pork, poultry, fish, and various meat preparation techniques.
- Ability to use butcher tools safely, including knives, boning knives, skewers, twine, grinders, and related equipment.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage customers professionally and make product recommendations.
- Ability to follow food safety, sanitation, storage, and quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail for weighing, labeling, pricing, inventory records, and product presentation.
- Dependable, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail food service environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a grocery, specialty market, butcher shop, or retail meat counter environment.
- Experience preparing special meat cuts, roasts, and custom customer orders.
- Familiarity with inventory ordering, product rotation, and meat department merchandising.
- Experience handling customer payments or using point-of-sale systems.
