Business Development Specialist
Overview
A respected professional services organization is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Specialist to support strategic growth initiatives and strengthen client relationships. This role partners closely with leadership, practice groups, and marketing teams to drive business development efforts through research, proposal management, client targeting, event coordination, and market outreach.

Key Responsibilities
Support the execution of business development strategies and growth initiatives across multiple practice areas and leadership teams.
Assist with identifying and tracking target clients, industries, and market opportunities.
Develop and maintain business development reports, opportunity pipelines, and CRM records.
Prepare compelling pitches, proposals, presentations, and responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
Conduct research on prospective clients, competitors, industry trends, and market developments.
Create briefing materials and background research for meetings, presentations, and client interactions.
Collaborate with marketing teams to align business development efforts with campaigns, branding initiatives, and thought leadership content.
Coordinate conferences, sponsorships, networking events, speaking engagements, and client experience activities.
Track proposal outcomes and gather feedback to improve future business development efforts.
Support CRM adoption, data quality initiatives, and process improvements.
Maintain and update proposal templates, experience databases, and marketing collateral.
Assist with follow-up campaigns and relationship management activities after events and meetings.
Coordinate cross-functional reporting efforts with finance and operational teams as needed.
Represent the organization at industry conferences, networking events, and business development functions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
4–6 years of experience in business development, marketing, sales support, or professional services.
Experience supporting client development initiatives in a fast-paced professional environment preferred.
Strong understanding of marketing channels, including digital marketing, social media, SEO, and content development.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with CRM systems and marketing tools preferred.
Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design platforms is a plus.
