Are you a relationship-driven sales professional with deep roots in the restoration industry? Our client is seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) to expand referral partnerships and strengthen market presence for their Pack-Out, Pack-Back, and Contents Restoration services across the Phoenix area.
Position Overview
The BDR is responsible for generating consistent, high-quality referral business by developing relationships with key players who frequently encounter contents restoration needs. You’ll educate partners on services, strengthen brand visibility, and drive measurable referral growth. This role requires extensive local travel, strong industry knowledge, and a proactive sales mindset.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Referral Source Development & Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with restoration contractors, mitigation companies, GCs, roofers, plumbers, HVAC, flooring, property managers, environmental testing companies, and insurance professionals.
Convert new partners into active, recurring monthly/quarterly referral sources.
Maintain a structured weekly schedule of office visits, lunches, networking events, and industry meetings.
Act as the primary contact for referral partners—managing communication, concerns, and escalations with urgency and professionalism.
Educate partners on pack-out/pack-back workflows, documentation, storage, and service benefits.
Promote key differentiators: climate-controlled storage, photo inventory process, co-branded services, white-glove offerings, Xactimate-ready documentation, mold/odor treatment, quick response times, and more
Consult on project needs to align services appropriately.
Track and report on lead flow across multiple verticals.
Identify high-value market opportunities and industry players.
Attend industry events (RIA, IICRC, BOMA, IFMA, NARPM, chamber events, trade groups).
Conduct competitor and market research to stay updated on pricing, offerings, and emerging trends.
Partner with operations teams for seamless job handoff and real-time communication.
Provide feedback to leadership on partner needs and service enhancements.
Participate in weekly sales meetings, forecasting, and pipeline planning.
Maintain accurate CRM notes (MoveGistics or future platform).
Submit weekly activity reports, updates, and quarterly ROC metrics.
Prepare presentations, proposals, co-branded materials, and onsite demos.
Required Skills & Competencies
Industry Experience Required: Restoration background or established connections within insurance, mitigation, contracting, or property management.
Driven to generate new relationships, maintain high activity levels, and build a strong pipeline.
Trustworthy and personable, with a long-term partnership mindset.
Skilled in influencing, objection handling, and closing referral partnerships.
Understanding of contents restoration, pack-outs, Xactimate, mitigation timelines, and insurance workflows.
Confident presenter, clear communicator, effective listener.
Ability to schedule meetings, plan routes, manage follow-ups, and track metrics.
Works collaboratively with operations to enhance service and partner satisfaction.
