Position Overview
A full-service professional services organization is seeking a Business Development Specialist to support firmwide growth initiatives. This role focuses on business development planning, proposal and pitch development, client and prospect research, and opportunity tracking.
The Specialist will work closely with senior professionals and internal marketing teams to help convert market visibility into new business opportunities and expanded client relationships. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-facing professional environment.

Key Responsibilities


Support execution of business development plans at both practice and individual levels, including reporting and stakeholder communication


Track priority clients, prospects, and target industries to support growth initiatives


Assist in maintaining and updating CRM data, ensuring accuracy of pipeline and opportunity tracking


Support reporting for business development metrics and leadership dashboards


Coordinate and track business development opportunities such as events, sponsorships, conferences, and speaking engagements


Maintain and update pitch materials, proposals, experience databases, and related content


Assist in preparing responses to RFPs and other client proposals


Conduct research on clients, competitors, industries, and market trends


Prepare briefing materials for meetings and pitch presentations


Collaborate with marketing teams to align campaigns, content, and collateral with business development efforts


Support CRM adoption and data quality improvement initiatives


Assist with planning and coordination of client events and business development activities


Attend industry events and support post-event follow-up campaigns


Provide general support to continuous improvement of business development processes and tools


Perform additional related duties as assigned



Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field


4–6 years of experience in business development, sales support, or professional services environment (law firm experience preferred)


Experience in marketing or business development within professional services


Familiarity with professional services marketing practices and compliance considerations


Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)


Experience with CRM systems preferred


Familiarity with digital marketing channels (LinkedIn, websites, email campaigns, etc.) is a plus


Experience with design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is preferred

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Physical & Work Requirements


Office-based role with standard business hours (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM)


Regular use of computer systems and keyboards


Ability to lift up to 10 pounds as needed


Requires close and distance vision, including screen-based work


Frequent communication via phone, email, and in-person meetings
