Job Description

In this role, the Business Development Manager–HVAC will sell EC fans and advanced air-moving solutions to HVACR OEMs, system integrators, and equipment manufacturers throughout the Central and Eastern U.S. and Canada. The position requires close collaboration with customer engineering and sourcing teams to present solutions, gather application requirements, and drive product design-ins from concept validation through mass production. This individual will also work cross-functionally with Asia-based R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams to manage timelines, samples, testing, and production builds.

Responsibilities
Prospect and qualify new HVAC OEM and system integrator opportunities within assigned territory
Build and maintain long-term customer relationships through onsite visits, technical presentations, and industry events
Present EC fan and air-moving solutions; capture detailed technical and application requirements

Convert customer requirements into proposals, quotations, validation plans, and sample schedules
Manage RFIs, RFQs, NDAs, onboarding processes, and design-in activities from concept through full production
Coordinate daily with Asia-based R&D and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment on engineering, schedules, and deliverables
Track samples, shipments, purchase orders, and resolve technical or commercial issues
Maintain accurate CRM data, sales forecasts, and pipeline reporting
Provide first-line commercial and application support post-delivery to ensure performance and integration success
Monitor market trends, customer product roadmaps, and competitive activity
Share customer insights to support product planning, pricing strategy, and long-term growth initiatives
Stay current on airflow/pressure dynamics, acoustics, EC motors, BLDC controls, and system integration
Travel 25–40% across Central/Eastern U.S. and Canada

Experience
5+ years of experience in HVAC, EC fans, motors, or air-moving products in business development or technical sales
Proven experience selling to HVAC OEMs or ventilation equipment manufacturers
Familiarity with RFI/RFQ processes, qualification testing, pilot builds, and production ramp-ups
Strong CRM discipline with accurate forecasting and pipeline management

Comfortable working across time zones and collaborating with global teams

Ability to clearly explain core HVAC air-moving concepts to engineering and sourcing stakeholders

Preferred Experience
Demonstrated design-in wins for EC fans or air-moving solutions
Hands-on HVAC application knowledge (air handlers, condensers, heat pumps, etc.)
Understanding of BLDC motor control, PWM/analog signals, and electrical integration
Track record of converting first meetings into revenue-generating production programs
Experience with NRE, tooling investments, long-term agreemen
