Business Development Manager – Automotive (Tier 1 Experience)
About the Role
We’re looking for a driven and hands-on Business Development Manager to lead growth within the automotive sector. Based in La Verne, you’ll drive new business with OEMs and Tier-1s, winning design-ins for advanced thermal solutions across EV battery systems, power electronics, ADAS/compute, and more. This is a high-ownership role for someone who thrives in technical sales and relationship building.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop new opportunities with OEMs, Tier-1s, and EV ecosystem partners
Build and manage strong customer relationships through site visits, meetings, and industry events
Lead RFIs/RFQs, proposals, and quotation processes
Drive design-ins from concept through SOP, supporting DV/PV, validation, and PPAP
Coordinate closely with R&D and manufacturing teams in Asia
Manage pipeline, forecasting, CRM updates, and account reporting
Provide technical/commercial support and ensure customer satisfaction post-delivery
Monitor market trends, customer roadmaps, and competitive landscape
Requirements
5+ years of automotive B2B sales or business development (OEMs/Tier-1s required)
Experience in EV, thermal solutions, power electronics, or ADAS/compute
Bilingual: English & Mandarin
Strong knowledge of RFQ/RFI processes, APQP, PPAP, DV/PV, and SOP
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business (or equivalent experience)
Willingness to travel 25%–40%
Nice-to-Haves
Experience with cooling fans, heat sinks, or thermal system solutions
Familiarity with IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 and FMEA methodologies
Proven track record of design-in wins and program launches
Experience with pricing, contracts, and cost-reduction strategies
