We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager for a direct hire opportunity with a long-established industrial manufacturing organization serving advanced technology, research, semiconductor, aerospace, and precision engineering markets.
This is a strategic B2B sales and business development role focused on driving growth across two complementary industrial business units: precision manufacturing and cleaning services, and ultra-high vacuum equipment and components. The ideal candidate is a consultative, technically capable sales professional who can identify new market opportunities, build trusted customer relationships, develop channel partnerships, and close complex industrial sales.
This opportunity offers the chance to represent specialized technical solutions in high-value markets while working with a collaborative leadership team that values innovation, accountability, professional growth, and long-term customer partnerships. The role is remote, aligned to Pacific Time business hours, with regular collaboration across sales, marketing, operations, and executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute B2B sales and revenue growth strategies for precision manufacturing services, cleaning solutions, and ultra-high vacuum equipment.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of target accounts across semiconductor, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, vacuum technology, photonics, optics, research, and OEM markets.
- Prospect, qualify, present, negotiate, and close new business opportunities with technical and industrial customers.
- Expand existing customer relationships through cross-selling, strategic account development, and recurring revenue opportunities.
- Develop reseller, distributor, referral partner, and channel relationships to increase market reach.
- Collaborate with marketing on lead generation campaigns, trade shows, events, content, market intelligence, and customer engagement initiatives.
Compensation and Benefits
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Salary range: $120,000 to $165,000 per year.
- Phase 1, months 0 to 9: Competitive base salary, depending on experience, or recoverable draw, plus commission opportunities and performance milestones.
- Phase 2, after ramp-up: Transition to a performance-based compensation plan with commissions on new business, recurring revenue incentives, strategic account growth incentives, reseller development incentives, and performance accelerators.
- Remote role aligned to Pacific Time work hours.
- Company headquarters located in Hayward, CA.
- Approximately 20 percent to 40 percent travel required.
- Regular onsite visits required during onboarding and periodically thereafter to build product, process, and operational knowledge.
- Drive new business development across technical industrial markets.
- Manage target account pipelines, sales forecasting, CRM updates, and revenue growth activities.
- Lead customer discovery meetings, presentations, negotiations, and trade show engagement.
- Build strategic customer, reseller, distributor, and referral partner relationships.
- 7+ years of successful B2B industrial sales or business development experience.
- Proven track record generating new business and growing strategic accounts.
- Experience selling technical products, manufacturing services, engineered solutions, or industrial technologies.
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to understand technical products, manufacturing processes, customer applications, and value-based selling strategies.
- Experience using CRM systems and pipeline management tools.
- Strong business acumen, self-motivation, follow-through, and ability to manage a remote sales territory.
- Ability to travel for customer visits, trade shows, partner meetings, onboarding, and periodic onsite collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in semiconductor, vacuum technology, photonics, aerospace, advanced materials, precision manufacturing, industrial services, or advanced manufacturing markets.
- Existing relationships within target industries, OEMs, research institutions, channel partners, or technical manufacturing networks.
- Experience developing reseller, distributor, referral, or channel partner programs.
- Technical, engineering, scientific, or manufacturing-related background preferred.
- Experience selling to academic, government, industrial, technical, or semiconductor organizations.
