About the Role
We are seeking a Business Development Associate to drive new business growth and expand market share in the concrete and construction industry. This role focuses on developing and maintaining strong relationships with General Contractors, architects, engineers, and other key customers, helping to increase product specifications, advocacy, and new business contracts.
You will work closely with the sales team, managing the full project lifecycle from prospecting to project completion, while actively participating in industry events and networking opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Close new business and drive market share growth within assigned territory.
Prospect and identify new leads and opportunities; maintain key accounts.
Build and maintain effective relationships with General Contractors and other customers.
Manage contacts and project lifecycle using Salesforce.com CRM.
Be visible and influential in your territory through trade associations, events, and industry networking.
Analyze market trends and develop action plans to capitalize on opportunities.
Conduct sales presentations and develop strategic selling approaches for projects.
Obtain and qualify construction plans for potential projects.
Act as the external point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaborate internally to ensure project success.
Learn and promote all company products and services.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Existing relationships with General Contractors in hotel, hospital, multifamily, and commercial construction.
3+ years of construction industry experience preferred.
Strong sales aptitude and time management skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and procedural documents.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Salesforce.com CRM.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Experience
1+ year of sales experience in construction or related industry.
1+ year of business development experience.
