Business Development Associate

Location: Sanford, FL 32773

Job Summary

The Business Development Associate is responsible for driving new business growth and expanding market share. This role focuses on developing, sustaining, and strengthening influential relationships with General Contractors and other key industry partners. The ideal candidate will exceed sales goals while promoting our diverse precast concrete, masonry, and construction services.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Close new business opportunities and drive market share growth.

Prospect and identify leads for new opportunities within the assigned outside sales territory and area of focus.

Develop and maintain strong relationships primarily with General Contractors, as well as architects, structural engineers, and building shell contractors to increase product specifications, advocacy, and contract awards.

Build and maintain a robust contacts database and manage the project lifecycle using Salesforce.com CRM.

Establish strong market visibility and influence within the territory, including participation in relevant trade associations and industry events.

Analyze market trends and develop strategic action plans to capitalize on shifts and emerging opportunities.

Create proactive prospecting plans, including scheduled calls and appointments.

Prepare and deliver impactful sales presentations.

Develop tailored selling strategies for projects within the assigned territory.

Obtain and review construction plans to qualify opportunities aligned with core products and services.

Serve as the external point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring collaboration with internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a collaborative approach.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.

Existing relationships with General Contractors in the hotel, hospital, multifamily, and commercial construction sectors within the assigned geographic area.

Three or more years of construction industry experience preferred.

Strong sales aptitude with proven presentation and communication skills.

Excellent time management and organizational abilities.

Ability to read and interpret construction plans, project specifications, safety rules, and procedure manuals.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify opportunities for success.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and Salesforce.com CRM.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.

Ability and willingness to travel as needed.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)

Experience
Sales Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
Business Development: 1 year (Preferred)
