Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager for a direct hire opportunity with a commercial bank in San Jose, CA. This role is ideal for a banking leader with strong branch management experience, deep roots in the local community, and a proven ability to grow relationships, lead teams, and drive branch performance.
The Branch Manager will oversee daily branch operations, business development, client service, staff leadership, and community engagement. This is a strong opportunity for a relationship-driven banking professional who enjoys being visible in the market, developing local partnerships, and representing a stable financial institution with a service-focused approach.
The right candidate will bring a balance of operational discipline, sales leadership, customer relationship management, and community presence. Success in this role will come from building trust with clients, supporting and coaching branch employees, and helping expand the bank’s presence within the San Jose business and consumer banking market.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of branch operations, including customer service, compliance, staff performance, and daily workflow.
- Develop and grow commercial banking, consumer banking, and deposit relationships within the local market.
- Build and maintain strong community relationships with local businesses, professional groups, civic organizations, and referral partners.
- Coach, mentor, and develop branch team members to achieve service, sales, and operational goals.
- Ensure branch activities comply with banking regulations, internal policies, audit standards, and risk management practices.
- Monitor branch performance, identify growth opportunities, and implement strategies to improve customer retention, revenue, and market share.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $85,000 to $115,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Manage branch operations, team leadership, sales performance, and service delivery.
- Drive local business development and community banking relationships.
- Lead branch staff through coaching, accountability, training, and performance management.
- Maintain compliance with bank policies, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- 6-10 years of relevant banking, branch management, or financial services leadership experience.
- Experience managing a retail banking, commercial banking, or financial services branch environment.
- Strong local market knowledge and established community connections in or near San Jose, CA.
- Proven ability to grow deposits, deepen customer relationships, and identify new banking opportunities.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and retain branch employees.
- Solid understanding of banking operations, customer service standards, compliance, and risk controls.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional presence with the ability to represent the bank in the community and build long-term trust.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with commercial banking, small business banking, or consumer lending products.
- Existing network of business, civic, and community relationships in the San Jose market.
- Demonstrated success leading a branch to meet or exceed growth, service, and operational goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
