Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager for a direct hire opportunity in La Mesa, CA within the banking and consumer lending industry. Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily branch operations, ensuring efficient workflows, strong customer service, and compliance with banking and consumer lending policies.
- Manage, coach, and develop branch staff to achieve sales, service, productivity, and operational goals.
- Drive deposit growth, loan production, customer retention, and new business development within the local market.
- Monitor branch performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and implement action plans to meet business objectives.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal controls, risk management standards, and audit expectations.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, community partners, and local business contacts to support branch growth.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $75,000 to $110,000 per year.
- Direct hire opportunity.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Manage daily branch operations, customer service, sales performance, staff development, compliance, and operational controls.
- Lead branch growth initiatives, including deposit growth, new accounts, customer retention, referrals, and local business development.
- Oversee audit readiness, risk management, internal controls, regulatory compliance, security, safety, and operational quality.
- Coach and manage branch staff to achieve service, productivity, sales, operational, and performance goals.
- 10+ years of professional experience in banking, consumer lending, financial services, or a related branch management environment.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a branch environment.
- Minimum of 5 years of branch management experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing complex business and consumer accounts.
- Proven sales ability with documented branch growth, deposit growth, or production results.
- Strong knowledge of banking products, deposit services, consumer lending, business accounts, branch operations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience hiring, training, coaching, developing, and performance-managing employees.
- Ability to manage 2 or more branch employees and provide ongoing operational guidance and development.
- Strong understanding of state and federal banking regulations, internal controls, audit requirements, and risk management practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership, team-building, customer service, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to resolve complex customer issues with professionalism, diplomacy, and a customer-first mindset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and banking software or banking programs.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some hours beyond the regular schedule when needed.
- Current California driver’s license and access to a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage for work-related driving.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Branch Manager, Assistant Branch Manager, Banking Center Manager, or similar banking leadership role.
- Experience in a community banking, credit union, consumer lending, or retail banking environment.
- Strong local market knowledge in or near La Mesa, CA.
- Active involvement in local business or community organizations, such as a Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, or similar civic group.
- Track record of meeting or exceeding branch sales, lending, deposit, service, audit, and customer experience goals.
- Notary Public preferred.
