Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate brake press machinery to produce precision metal components according to job requirements.
- Select, position, align, and secure dies in the machine ram and bed based on part specifications.
- Read blueprints, verify workpiece dimensions, and use inspection tools such as calipers and micrometers to confirm quality.
- Adjust machine settings, pressure, and die clearance based on material thickness and production requirements.
- Detect and report defective materials, unusual conditions, or equipment issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate travelers, update job information as required, and keep the work area, machine, and related equipment clean and organized.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $26 to $32 per hour, depending on experience.
- Job Type: Direct hire.
- Schedule: 1st shift, Monday through Friday, 5:00 am to 1:30 pm.
- Overtime: May be required, including starting at 4:00 am, staying later, and working Saturdays.
- Location: Santa Ana, CA.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Set up and operate brake press machinery for aerospace and defense manufacturing production.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, travelers, and job instructions to produce accurate parts.
- Measure and verify parts using calipers, micrometers, measuring tape, and other inspection tools.
- Troubleshoot machine, setup, quality, or production issues with minimal supervision.
- Must have strong recent brake press operator experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to work independently and hit the ground running with minimal training.
- Must meet ITAR requirements, which require U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility or similar relevant environment required.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret drawings.
- Knowledge of measuring equipment, including calipers and micrometers.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using different units of measurement.
- Understanding of production and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Detail-oriented with strong communication skills and a team-focused mindset.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed, push up to 60 lbs as needed, carry up to 20 lbs for short distances, and load and unload material.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, walk as needed, and occasionally kneel, squat, or bend.
- Willingness to work early hours, overtime, weekends, and schedule adjustments as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual Spanish communication skills.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, precision sheet metal, or tight-tolerance manufacturing.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or drawing interpretation software.
- Experience working with documented quality procedures and production travelers.
