Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Brake Press Operator for a direct hire opportunity in Santa Ana, CA. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented manufacturing professional with 3 to 5 years of experience operating brake press equipment, interpreting blueprints, and producing accurate metal components in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

The Brake Press Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating machinery, aligning dies, verifying dimensions, and maintaining quality standards throughout production. Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate brake press machinery to produce quality metal parts according to job specifications.
- Select, position, align, and secure dies in the machine ram and bed for accurate forming operations.
- Verify workpiece dimensions using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, measuring tape, and related measuring instruments.
- Position material manually or with lifting equipment to align layout marks with dies and ensure accurate forming.
- Detect and report defective materials, unusual conditions, quality issues, or equipment concerns to supervision.
- Maintain accurate job travelers, follow production instructions, and keep work areas, machines, and related equipment clean and organized.

- Pay range: $26.00 to $32.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Set up and operate brake press machinery for metal fabrication production.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, travelers, and work instructions.
- Verify dimensions and inspect finished workpieces using precision measuring tools.
- Troubleshoot production, setup, material, and quality issues as needed.

- 3 to 5 years of relevant brake press, machine operation, or metal fabrication experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility or similar production environment.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret drawings accurately.
- Experience using inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, measuring tape, and other measuring instruments.
- Strong mathematical skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and work with different units of measurement.
- Understanding of production and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, numerical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed, push up to 60 lbs. as needed, and carry up to 20 lbs. for short distances.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and load or unload materials as required.
- Willingness to work shifts, including early or late hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with drawing interpretation and SolidWorks.
- Familiarity with quality procedures or manufacturing documentation such as QAP and MI work instructions.
- Experience operating cranes or handling larger metal workpieces in a fabrication environment.
