Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Bookkeeper for a direct hire opportunity with a boutique accounting and business management firm in Thousand Oaks, CA. This role is ideal for a full charge bookkeeper who enjoys working directly with clients, managing multiple accounts, and supporting business owners with accurate bookkeeping, payroll, bill pay, and day-to-day financial administration.

The Senior Bookkeeper will report to the Bookkeeping Department Manager and will be responsible for managing client accounts rather than supervising staff. The ideal candidate is confident, diligent, client-focused, and comfortable working in a review-driven environment where accuracy, teamwork, and professionalism are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full charge bookkeeping for business management clients, including ongoing bookkeeping, bill pay, credit card activity, and account maintenance.
- Enter and pay bills, process payroll, maintain schedules, and support day-to-day accounting activity for multiple client accounts.
- Work directly with clients in a professional, client-facing capacity to maintain strong relationships and provide responsive service.
- Use QuickBooks and related accounting tools to support accurate bookkeeping, payroll, reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping.
- Apply strong knowledge of basic accounting principles, including debits, credits, payroll, and transaction coding.
- Collaborate with the bookkeeping team and department leadership to ensure work is accurate, timely, and ready for review before client delivery.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $65,000 to $105,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Manage full charge bookkeeping for multiple client accounts.
- Process payroll, bill pay, schedules, and credit card activity.
- Support business management clients with ongoing accounting and bookkeeping needs.
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare work for internal review.
- Full charge bookkeeping experience is required.
- Experience with payroll, basic accounting, debits, and credits is required.
- QuickBooks proficiency is required.
- Experience managing multiple entities, owners, shareholders, distributions, payrolls, and bill payments is strongly relevant.
- CPA firm client bookkeeping or business management experience is highly valuable, but not required.
- Must be comfortable working in office and interacting directly with clients.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to avoid errors and accept work review before client delivery.
- Self-starter with confidence, sound judgment, and the ability to know when to ask questions.
- Collaborative team player with strong communication skills and a client-service mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a small to mid-size accounting, bookkeeping, tax, or business management services environment.
- CPA firm experience supporting client bookkeeping or business management accounts.
- Property management accounting experience involving multiple entities, shareholders, owners, distributions, payroll, and bill pay.
- Prior supervisory or management experience is a plus, although this role does not manage staff.
