Bookkeeper - Part-Time
Position Overview
An established organization is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Bookkeeper to support payroll and general accounting functions for a minimum five-month engagement, with the potential for extension. This role requires a dependable and detail-oriented professional with strong QuickBooks experience and knowledge of Washington State payroll compliance.
Schedule & Work Environment
• January: Approximately 5–10 hours per week
• February and onward: Approximately 20 hours per week
• Hybrid schedule requiring at least two days per week in-office
• Location: South Seattle area
Key Responsibilities
• Process and manage Washington State payroll, ensuring compliance with applicable state regulations and reporting requirements
• Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Compile, reconcile, and organize financial data on a regular basis
• Prepare payroll-related tax filings and reports
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements
• Maintain general ledger and journal entries
• Generate basic financial reports such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
• Collaborate with internal teams and external accounting partners as needed
Qualifications
• Prior experience in bookkeeping or accounting support
• MUST HAVE: Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
• Working knowledge of Washington State payroll, taxes, and reporting requirements
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard accounting tools
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
• Associate degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience supporting small to mid-sized organizations
• Familiarity with Washington State labor and payroll compliance
