Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper & Operations Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Las Vegas, NV. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys accurate bookkeeping, clean month-end close processes, and a varied mix of operational and administrative projects.
This opportunity is with a Nevada-licensed trust company serving self-directed retirement investors and supporting custody of alternative assets such as real estate, private placements, and precious metals. The environment is highly professional, regulated, and process-focused, offering exposure to accounting operations, financial services administration, compliance support, and legal documentation workflows.
The team is small, collaborative, and hands-on, which makes this a strong fit for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, partnering with leadership, and contributing to operational improvements. You will report to senior operations leadership with accounting oversight and play an important role in maintaining accurate records, supporting audit readiness, and helping document workflows as the organization continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including daily and weekly entries, reconciliations, accounts payable support, and accounts receivable support.
- Support month-end close, including bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and audit trail maintenance.
- Assist with operational projects, data entry, process execution, and system updates related to new business lines and entity administration.
- Prepare and support IRS EIN applications, state registrations, 401(k) onboarding paperwork, and other documented administrative workflows.
- Coordinate legal and compliance administrative tasks, including subpoena response support, case folder setup, document collection, redaction, Bates numbering, and production under legal counsel supervision.
- Help document, refine, and standardize internal workflows by turning informal procedures into clear checklists and repeatable processes.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation: $65,000 to $75,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Manage bookkeeping functions, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities.
- Support operational projects involving process execution, system data entry, entity filings, and onboarding documentation.
- Assist with legal and compliance administration, including sensitive document handling, redaction, and organized production workflows.
- Maintain clean documentation, audit trails, and accurate records in a regulated financial services environment.
- 2 or more years of bookkeeping experience using QuickBooks, NetSuite, Zoho, or a similar accounting platform.
- Strong working knowledge of reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close.
- Experience handling confidential financial records, legal correspondence, IRS filings, or other sensitive documentation.
- Strong written communication skills with a consistent focus on accuracy, documentation, and a clear paper trail.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while switching between routine accounting tasks and ambiguous operational projects.
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment when working with customer financial data and legal materials.
- Ability to move forward with incomplete information, ask thoughtful questions, and follow through on complex tasks.
- Adobe Acrobat fluency for redaction and Bates numbering, or the ability and willingness to learn quickly.
- Professional experience level aligned with 6 to 10 years of overall accounting, finance, operations, or administrative support experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial services, trust operations, custody, banking, brokerage, registered investment advisory, or a regulated financial environment.
- Prior exposure to legal administrative work, subpoena response, e-discovery intake, paralegal-adjacent responsibilities, or document production.
- Experience with IRS applications, Secretary of State filings, EINs, foreign qualifications, annual reports, or related entity administration.
- Familiarity with self-directed IRAs, retirement accounts, alternative asset custody, or 401(k) onboarding documentation.
- Experience using Zoho or similar business operations platforms.
