Job Summary
A growing oil and gas company in Downtown Shreveport, LA is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper - Oil & Gas to join its accounting team on a full-time, direct hire basis. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys managing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting revenue and Joint Interest Billing accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, bookkeeping entries, and accounting transactions.
- Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, vendor invoices, and payments.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, vendor balances, and general ledger accounts.
- Assist with revenue accounting, Joint Interest Billing, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
- Prepare and review financial reports for accuracy and support audit documentation requests.
- Use accounting software and Excel to maintain records, generate reports, and support accounting operations.
Compensation and Benefits
- $45,000 to $65,000 annually, depending on experience.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Maintain day-to-day bookkeeping and general ledger accounting records.
- Support oil and gas revenue accounting and Joint Interest Billing activities.
- Reconcile financial accounts and assist with month-end close.
- Prepare reports, documentation, and accounting support for management and audits.
- Minimum 3+ years of oil and gas bookkeeping or accounting experience required.
- Knowledge of oil and gas accounting practices, including revenue accounting and JIB accounting.
- Experience processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a professional office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting preferred.
- Wolfepak software experience is a strong plus.
- QuickBooks experience preferred.
- Prior experience supporting audit preparation, financial reporting, and month-end close in an oil and gas environment.
