We are looking for someone to seamlessly step into this crucial role, as a Bookkeeper/Office Manager.
This is a full-time, in-office position (Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) requiring a proactive and reliable individual who can manage a variety of tasks efficiently and independently. While the role is primarily in-office due to some paper-based processes and occasional client interaction, there may be some flexibility for remote work once the candidate is fully trained and proficient.
Responsibilities Include:
•Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Managing all aspects of the company's bookkeeping, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
•Payroll Processing: Handling bi-weekly payroll for approximately 12 employees using ADP.
•Financial Management: Balancing books, managing accounts payable (paying bills), and accounts receivable (receiving checks).
•DMV Paperwork: Submitting necessary paperwork to the Department of Motor Vehicles (outsourced).
•State Agency Billing: Sending out electronic bills to various state agencies.
•Tax Coordination: Preparing and submitting monthly tax information to our external CPA firm (who also handles year-end taxes).
•Software Management: Utilizing Lightspeed software (training provided, but familiarity is a plus).
•General Office Administration: Providing essential office support to ensure smooth daily operations.
•Team Collaboration: Pitching in and assisting colleagues with various tasks as needed in our collaborative team environment.
•Client Interaction: Interacting professionally with occasional clients.
Qualifications:
•Proven experience in bookkeeping, demonstrating a strong understanding of accounting principles.
•Maturity, reliability, and a strong work ethic with a commitment to the job.
•Experience with payroll processing, preferably using ADP.
•Familiarity with accounting software; experience with Lightspeed is a significant advantage, but not required.
•Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
•Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities without constant supervision.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to get along well with a small team.
•Must be available to work full-time, Tuesday through Saturday.
•Candidates residing closer to San Marcos are preferred.
•A professional demeanor and the ability to maintain a positive and drama-free work environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
