A respected legal services firm in Maitland, FL is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper for a direct hire, in-office opportunity. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong bookkeeping, QuickBooks Online, accounts payable, and general ledger support experience.
The Bookkeeper will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting case-related accounting activity, preparing settlement documentation, and assisting with month-end and year-end close. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records on a cash basis and assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
- Receive, verify, and enter vendor invoices into accounting and case management systems.
- Prepare and process weekly check runs for operating expenses and client case costs.
- Process American Express credit card transactions and support related reconciliation activity.
- Create closing statements, cost reports, and trust check correspondence for case settlements and disbursements.
- Maintain client settlement files, process annual 1099s, assist with CPA tax package preparation, and prepare month-end reporting.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $60,000 to $65,000 per year, based on experience.

- Support bookkeeping operations for a legal services firm, including accounts payable, case cost transactions, and settlement-related documentation.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including closed case write-offs in a cash-basis accounting environment.
- Prepare weekly check runs, cost reports, closing statements, 1099s, and month-end financial reports.
- Maintain accurate client settlement files and financial documentation within accounting and case management systems.
- 5 or more years of bookkeeping experience required.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, required.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, vendor invoice processing, credit card transactions, and financial recordkeeping.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work confidently with accounting systems and case management platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working in an in-office professional services environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous bookkeeping experience in the legal industry.
- Experience using FileVine case management software.
- Experience using QuickBooks Online incorporated AI tools.
- Proficiency with AI tools.
