Job Summary

A professional services firm is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper for a direct-hire opportunity supporting financial operations in a law firm environment. This role is ideal for a bookkeeping professional with prior law firm billing experience who enjoys accurate recordkeeping, client billing, reconciliations, and working closely with an established finance team.

The Bookkeeper will support an existing bookkeeper and help ensure timely, organized, and confidential handling of accounting and billing activity. Key Responsibilities

- Assist with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and day-to-day bookkeeping functions.
- Prepare client invoices, incorporate attorney edits, and respond to client billing inquiries.
- Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
- Record journal entries and support month-end or periodic reporting needs.
- Prepare and distribute financial reports for internal review.
- Handle confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $25 to $28 per hour, depending on experience.
- There may be flexibility in the pay rate for the right candidate.
- Direct-hire opportunity.
- Part-time schedule of 15 to 20 hours per week.
- Preferred schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 3 to 4 hours per day.
- Primarily in-person in Haddonfield, NJ.
- Some work-from-home flexibility may be available when needed, subject to discussion.
- In-person attendance is required during the initial training period.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support law firm bookkeeping, billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
- Prepare client invoices and manage billing updates based on attorney edits.
- Reconcile bank accounts, record journal entries, and assist with financial reporting.
- Respond to client billing inquiries and maintain accurate, confidential financial records.

- Prior law firm billing experience is required.
- At least 2 to 3 years of relevant bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with standard bookkeeping practices and accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage recurring deadlines.
- Professional communication skills for client billing inquiries and internal coordination.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with PracticeMaster and/or Tabs3 legal practice management and billing software.
- Prior experience supporting bookkeeping functions within a law firm or legal services environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an existing bookkeeper and office team.
