Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper for a contract/temporary opportunity in Fresno, CA supporting accounting and administrative operations within the agriculture industry. This role is ideal for a bookkeeping professional who enjoys working with multiple entities, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting cash management, and contributing to smooth daily business operations.

The Bookkeeper will play an important role in supporting the Accounting Department with bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activity, cash reporting, intercompany transactions, and administrative coordination. Key Responsibilities

- Prepare bank reconciliations, record cash receipts, process deposits, enter journal entries, and maintain accurate general ledger records across multiple entities.
- Support cash management activities, including ACH and Positive Pay review, wire transfers, bank-to-bank transfers, weekly cash reports, and line of credit reporting.
- Reconcile intercompany loans, receivables, payables, related party interest, note receivables, credit card charges, and lender statement activity.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including reviewing AP runs, mailing checks, managing AR email, and supporting billing-related information.
- Provide administrative support such as greeting guests, backing up phones, scheduling projects, preparing board meeting materials, coordinating documents, and organizing meeting support.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close, audit and tax documentation, record maintenance, and other accounting or administrative projects as assigned.

- Pay range: $22.00 to $30.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Prepare reconciliations, journal entries, cash receipts, deposits, and general ledger updates for multiple entities.
- Support cash management, wire transfers, ACH review, Positive Pay review, and weekly cash reporting.
- Reconcile intercompany balances, related party interest, note receivables, credit card activity, and lender statements.
- Provide administrative support for management, meetings, documentation, filing, and office operations.

- 3-5 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or closely related administrative accounting experience preferred.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accrual and cash basis accounting, including accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of financial transactions.
- Experience with bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, cash receipts, deposits, and journal entries.
- Proficiency with accounting software and business systems such as Famous, Access, and Excel spreadsheets.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to research, compile, analyze, and interpret financial and business data.
- Strong mathematical skills, including working with percentages, ratios, proportions, and related calculations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with team members, owners, banks, vendors, and external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and accountability.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, business correspondence, technical procedures, and related business documentation.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds and perform standard office duties, with reasonable accommodations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in agriculture, farming, food production, or related industries.
- Experience accounting for multiple entities, trusts, related party transactions, or intercompany activity.
- Familiarity with Famous accounting software.
- Experience supporting audit and tax documentation preparation.
- Prior experience coordinating administrative projects, board materials, legal documents, or owner support activities.
